Tooling Details for Injection Molding Projects
Rapid Tooling
Molds with steel cavity and core with a shot life of 5,000 - 10,000 shots typically machined in 2 weeks.
Production Tooling
P20 or equivalent steel tool with shot life up to 1M shots.
Ability to integrate side-pulls or cam actions.
Typically machined in 3 weeks.
Multi-Cavity or Family Molds
Multiple identical cavities of family of parts machined into a single tool.
Allows for more parts to be produced per shot, minimizing unit costs.
Insert Molding
Inserts are placed into the mold and molding occurs around them to extend tool life for critical features.
Allows for inserts such as helicoils to be molded in your design.
Over Molding
Pre-made parts are placed into the mold and are molded over.
Allows for multi-material injection molding.
Injection Molding Polymer Details & Post-Processing Options
At beyondGREEN biotech, Inc. we refer to Injection Molding as Injection BioMolding because we specialize in manufacturing products from a wide range of biopolymers. Not only are we able to source biopolymers from some of the Industry's largest polymer manufacturers but we also excel in polymer blending in-house so that you can get the feel and look of your products with the environmental benefits exactly how you like. In addition to sourcing biopolymers, we are also able to manufacturer using recycled plastics and ocean plastic for products which require a longer life-span.
Some of the common polymer we use include:
- Certified Home Compostable Biopolymers (beyondGREEN Blends Only)
- High-Heat Resistant Biopolymers
- PLA (Industrial Compostable Only)
- Re-Granulated Polymers (Industrial Compostable Only)
- Recycled Ocean Plastics
- Recycled Plastics
